BIO
Nównøis is an innovative trip-hop and experimental electronic artist known for her deep, philosophical lyrics and genre-defying soundscapes. With roots as NAGYEDi, she has spent the past two decades carving her unique path in the music world, gaining recognition as a prolific songwriter and live performer. Her work has been praised for its emotional depth and inventive approach, drawing comparisons to artists like Björk, Portishead, and Tricky. Nównøis has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, blending her haunting vocals and intricate sound design with various styles, from electronic beats to cinematic scores.
Now working from her London home studio, she is set to release her highly anticipated LP that explore themes of self-reflection, transformation, and the complexities of human emotion and mind. The self-producing artist almost exclusively uses found sounds, samples from her everyday life, be it a kitchen sink, leaves under the feet, kids toys. Her fans can now contribute to her album by sending samples.
Nównøis’ upcoming LP marks a new chapter in her artistic journey, shifting from deeply personal songwriting to a broader perspective that weaves life lessons into a more universal narrative. This project slightly moves away from her previous vocal-centered approach, embracing a danceable and immersive sound with rich instrumental layers and ambient textures. The self-producing artist is also known for her unconventional strategies when it comes to music releases, and true to this, Nòwnøis releases her LP as a 3-part EP-series.

STATEMENTS
For years, electronic music — especially when performed live as a solo act — has struggled to find its place in traditional festival lineups. Yet, it carries the same raw energy, power, and defiance as any other form of live performance. The fight for space isn’t just about sound but about visibility—ensuring that self-producing female artists are recognised, heard, and given the same platforms to break boundaries. With over 25 years in music and art, the journey has been shaped by deep collaboration with both audio and visual artists, constantly evolving through experimentation and pushing creative limits. Resistance comes in many forms; for some, it’s in the distortion of a guitar. For others, it’s in the layering of sound, the manipulation of field recordings, and the construction of something entirely new from the ground up.
"There really isn’t anyone out there doing what she is doing and I find myself utterly mesmerised by all I’ve heard from her."
(Graeme Smith, York Calling)
