I can't believe we have finally got to this point of my LP project: the first part is ready and all set for a release this Friday.

I wanted to share some important news and background info on this EP, and luckily, there are many!
It took me at least three different concepts to finally accept the above photo as cover art. Accept.. well, I'm talking about a DIY project so it was only me I needed to work on this with, but that's literally the hardest thing. When I started finalising the tracks, I sat down with the intention to produce them as close to what I like hearing as possible. In the past, it meant a half-mixed, mainly sound-designed and arranged track, and me not even touching my vocals. This time, I just kept getting ideas on what to change, what to fine-tune, and ended up mixing the whole EP. If you're not a producer, it might sound confusing and you're not sure what I was actually doing but here's a truth: sometimes I wasn't sure either. I was going with the flow, and the ideas just kept flowing. My vision became clearer and clearer, and I've learned trick and tips on the go. It felt like being in the middle of a matrix, watching numbers (sounds, and their relations) falling into their places. I've believed for years that I was too dumb and not technical enough to be able to mix any music. (Two years ago I still believed that I was totally incompetent when it came to music production just so you know.)
Here's a lesson for you: whatever you want to do only takes the belief that you are capable of doing that, trust me.
Three weeks after deadline I've set up for myself, I forwarded the almost ready tracks to Andy Hill (The Subtheory) who earlier agreed to help me finish the tracks. He's one of the best producers I had the chance to work with an I knew he'll respect my vision while adding the best final touches. About a week later, after going back to the tracks, I've noticed it called for a few changes, but on the production level. Instead of driving Andy crazy, I said to myself: man, grow up, and finish the EP, and say "this is where I'm at musically, technically, artistically right now, and I'm taking full responsibility for whatever people can hear." And here we go, with a fully DIY EP, coming on the 5th of December.
By this week, I planned to be in the middle of promotion: the EP, the event (more on this in a bit), the also DIY merch... but I've been too busy working on the only essential part of an EP release; the music itself.
come and join us
Now that I'm done with mastering, I can invite you to our event on the 5th of December. Another banging lineup and I feel super lucky to have these three incredible artists joining me at my third home in London, the Biddle Bros.
It's promising to be a special one with genre-blending, multidisciplinary artists who are planning to take you on a night-long journey far from reality (but only after helping you face it -if you know what I mean...) You can get my super unique DIY merch bundle that I can't share yet as for now it's an event-only thing. So, please, if you can, join us, and if you can't share the event with your friends and family, and keep your eyes on your mailbox for links and updates on the release.
I could absolutely write more eg. share the coming EMOM I'll be hosting this Wednesday at the legendary Dublin Castle (organised by Lucida Records), or share memories on how amazing it was to collaborate with Leg Puppy 2.0 last Friday at the same venue, but let's just focus on the EP for now. I hope you've been convinced already how cool I am anyway. Much love, nównøis
